Ardsley Park: Quintessential Savannah
To many, Ardsley Park is what Savannah living is all about. Among the 100-year old moss laden oaks, choose a turn of the century, renovated,Victorian or Greek Revival or Gothic or Tudor manor home; or a cozy Craftsman bungalow finished out with top of the line surfaces and appliances.
The Ardsley Park, located conveniently in Midtown, is less that 5 minutes from downtown, Whole Foods, Kroger, Home Depot, Target, and Daffin park. Less that 12 minutes from Sam's Club, Super Walmart, Forsyth park, and Oglethorpe Mall. It is one of the city’s “hottest” neighborhoods; favored by young professionals. Homes sell fairly quickly. When a classic come on the market we have to move fast.
Nearby Daffin Park is always full of activity but it is so large that it rarely seems crowded at about 80 acres. It includes 12 tennis courts, a dog park, a children's playground, a volley ball court, 2 basketball courts, a swimming pool, a football field, the Grayson Stadium, home to the Sand Gnats, as well as a lake near Victory Drive and Waters Ave with 2 huge spray fountains and a gazebo in the lake where you may have parties for up to 20 people.
A really great place to walk dogs, pets are very welcome, on leash of course. There is the Daffin off-leash dog park where your dog can socialize with all his friends and so can you. The center of the park features a grass promenade that runs the length of the park amid huge oaks with limbs stretching out and forming a shaded moss canopy. At the east in of the park is Grayson Stadium, home to our local baseball team, The Savannah Sand Gnats.
